Welcome to the largest organization for girls in the world! Our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. Through activities in science and technology, business and economic literacy, and outdoor and environmental awareness, Girl Scouting provides girls with opportunities for fun and friendship, while fostering development of leadership skills and self-esteem.
Founded by Juliette Gordon Low in Savannah, Georgia on March 12, 1912, Girl Scouts serves more than 1.9 million girl members from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri is one of 112 councils across the United States. Our council is chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA and supports about 23,000 girl members and 8,000 adult volunteers in its 47 county jurisdiction surrounding the Greater Kansas City, Topeka and St. Joseph areas.
St. Peter’s Girl Scout Opportunities:
Our Troops have participated in school and community based activities. Some of the activities include: Camping, Zip Line, Rappelling, Holiday Party, Cookie Sales, Crafts, Harvesters, Royals Game, Service Opportunities St. Peter’s, Kauffman Performing Arts, Nelson-Atkins Museum Programs, TV Station Tours, Hiking and Leadership Training.
Our Troops are based determined by grade. Every girl has the opportunity to participate in the Girl Scout program. Our volunteer leaders are able to work the girls and their parents to help with scheduling for meetings.
How much time is involved?
Each Troop helps to develop the calendar for the school year. Most troops meet monthly with additional activities as they present themselves through the GSA Council or school.
Where and when do troops meet?
Typically, meetings are in the St. Peter’s School or Legacy Center. Leaders are able to set the calendar to meet the needs of their Troops. The younger scouts usually meet once a month with additional outings that are supported through the money made by cookie sales.

How do I volunteer?
Girl Scout Law
I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
respect myself and others,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.
The Girl Scout Promise
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
