Volunteers Needed for Children’s Liturgy

We are looking for adult and high-school aged volunteers to assist with our Children’s Liturgy of the Word ministry. This ministry is offered during the school year at the Sunday 9 a.m. Mass for children ages 4 – 2nd grade. After the opening prayer, the weekly teacher and helper accompany the children to the church basement, where they learn about the Gospel as they pray, share, listen, sing, and color in activity books. They return to the Mass prior to the Liturgy of the Eucharistic. Preparation for the lesson requires a few minutes perusing the teacher’s guide and weekly activity book. To get involved, please email Megan Scheiderer. Volunteers must complete the Protecting God’s Children workshop and a background check.

As always, all donations are appreciated but the most needed items are listed here. You can leave donations in the Food Drive barrels located in the church and narthex, or bring them to the Legacy Center. We need: soups, pasta, pasta sauce, canned tomatoes, crackers, peanut butter, jelly, tuna and canned meats, one can meals, and hygiene items. Thank you!

Volunteers Needed for Church Nursery

We need adult and student volunteers to help staff the church nursery, which provides care for children kindergarten age and younger during the 9 am and 11 am Masses on Sundays. Each volunteer typically serves only 2 shifts per 4-6 month period. Please email Corinne Wolff if you can help with this ministry. Service hours are available for students.Adult volunteers must have completed Protecting God’s Children training through the diocese.

Children are a precious part of our parish family and are always welcome at Mass. If parents prefer to use the nursery, located in the church basement, it is available during Sunday morning Masses for children up to kindergarten age. ($2 suggested donation). We rely on volunteers so if you use the nursery, please try to find a time when you can also volunteer. There is a signup sheet in the nursery.

Donate Small Personal Items to the Knights of Brush Creek

The Knights of Brush Creek are a group that take breakfast every Sunday morning, rain or shine, to homeless men and women who take shelter along Brush Creek? Please consider donating summertime items for them, such as new socks, sunscreen, new lightweight hats or visors. The Venturing Crew will put together small care packages and the Knights will deliver them to those in need. Baskets will be in the back of Church through out the month of June.
